Deanna Johnston, M.A.
Deanna Johnston is the Director of Family Life for the St. Philip Institute and has served in that position since the Institute was founded in 2017.
Her focus is on marriage formation and ongoing marriage enrichment ministries, as well as providing Natural Family Planning (NFP) and other resources for families in the Diocese of Tyler. She is a certified Billings Ovulation Method NFP teacher.
Deanna earned her B.A. in Philosophy and Spanish from the University of Memphis and an M.A. in Theololgy from Newman University in Kansas. She and her husband, Michael, have four children: Alexandria, Simon, Elena, and Leo.
Deanna Johnston es la Directora de Vida Familiar del Instituto San Felipe. Su papel es el de enfocarse en la formación matrimonial y en los ministerios para el enriquecimiento del matrimonio ya en curso además de proporcionar Planificación Familiar Natural (PFN) así como otros recursos para las familias de la Diócesis de Tyler.
Deanna se graduó de la Universidad de Memphis con su licenciatura en filosofía y español y después obtuvo su maestría en teología de la Universidad de Newman en Wichita, KS. Ella también es maestra de PFN certificada en Billings Ovulation Method. Deanna se casó con su esposo Michael en octubre de 2013 y tienen cuatro hijos: Alexandria, Simon, Elena y Leo.
Empowering Families to Change the World
St. John Paul II said “As the family goes, so goes the nation, and so goes the whole world in which we live.” In a time that can often feel chaotic and overwhelming, it is crucial that the Church continues to support parents in their roles by affirming the beauty and truth of God’s plan for marriage and the family. In this presentation, we will discuss ways in which the parish can encourage families to be a beacon of hope in the darkness and empower them to change the world.

En un momento que a menudo puede parecer caótico y abrumador, es crucial que la Iglesia continúe apoyando a los padres en sus roles, afirmando la belleza y la verdad del plan de Dios para el matrimonio y la familia.
