Lesson 16: “The Same Thing All the Time?”

To follow Christ with your heart and mind and soul, regular disciplines are vital to truly live in his love. The temptation to serve the world and not God is ever-present, and it is through a life dedicated to living out chastity, poverty, and obedience that permits every Christian, and especially the consecrated person, to faithfully follow God in his or her daily life. Habitually living in the grace of God demands of every person a commitment to God in word and deed.

Discussion Questions:

1. How can I better practice chastity, poverty, and obedience now?

2. Are there any stirrings in my heart when I think about religious life or priesthood?

3. What are the things that block me from at least considering that life?

4. Will I at least give God a chance to claim me for his own in this way, or I am going to be selfish and reject him?
