Lesson 21: “Ask, Seek, Knock”

Meditation is the form of prayer that “seeks to understand the why and how of Christian life, in order to adhere and respond to what the Lord is asking” (CCC 2705). In praying the Stations of the Cross the disciple is called into intimate union with our Lord Jesus in his agony, suffering, and death, and is helped to more deeply identify with the abundant charity of our Lord and to better heed the call of repentance and conversion.

Discussion Questions:

1. Do the Stations of the Cross help me or do I fear thinking of Jesus in his agony?

2. What other methods of prayer do I find helpful to get to know Jesus better?

3. How could I foster greater practice of praying the stations at my home? Parish?

4. Does a crucifix have a place of prominence in my home or room? Why?
