Way of Beauty – Sacred Music
On Saturday November 23, 2019, The St. Philip Institute hosted a Way of Beauty- Sacred Music event for all the youth of the Diocese of Tyler. Approximately 20 youth and 8 youth leaders from all over the Diocese attended this event, including participants from as far away as Buffalo and Paris. This event was led by Fr. Justin Braun and his guest Alexis Kutarna. Alexis has worked with singers of all ages, having served as a parish music and liturgy director, and as the Director of Music at St. Mary’s Seminary in Houston, TX. She coached and prepared the youth to chant for Mass that afternoon, and encouraged them to pursue their gift of music by joining their local music ministry.
