Bishop’s Annual Appeal
The St. Philip Institute has been on the road the last few weeks traveling throughout the diocese to the different deaneries. The executive director, Dr. Stacy Trasancos, gave a talk at each dinner titled, “How to Bind Your Family to Heaven Without Using Duct Tape.” she said that it is important to familiarize ourselves with the issues we face in the secular world and confidently address them “in the light of faith.” We need to engage our culture and guide our families to the Truth of Christ. Dr. Trasancos explained how as human beings we seek truth and love because we are made in the image and likeness of God, and we thus want the best for our families, which is Heaven. However, she noted, we can’t fix our broken relationships if we ourselves are in broken relationships with Christ, our Creator, and Redeemer. To bind our families to Heaven, we need to have an active relationship with Christ, talking to him and being in his Real Presence in the Most Holy Eucharist. We would like to thank all the host parishes and the Development Department at the chancery for hosting these Bishop’s Annual Appeal guild dinners. We especially would like to thank all the donors for their sacrificial and continuous support.
