Lesson 12: “Feed My Sheep”

The priest is called Father, because like a biological father he is called to be a man of service, protection, and support to everyone he encounters. The heroic witness of hidden sacrifices, countless hours of confessions, and interrupted nights of sleep are all part of the life of the priest. In the priest the Christian faithful encounter a disciple who has truly poured himself our in selfless love for the kingdom of God, and this is a testimony of his trust in and love of God.

Discussion Questions:

1. What do you think Father does most of the time? How does he spend his typical day?

2. Does the fact that priests are not married have a good or bad effect?

3. When did you last thank your priest for his work and service to you?

4. Do you use your time off well? To be truly “re-creative”?
